About Us
Herman Wohlsen left Germany in 1877 as a 16-year-old carpenter and settled in Central Pennsylvania where he began to apply his craft. In 1890, Herman started, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, what has grown to become Wohlsen Construction Company.
Herman’s efficient manner and attention to quality is a legacy that flows through our company today. Building on its heritage, the current management has expanded Wohlsen Construction geographically to serve customers throughout the Mid-Atlantic States, always with the highest levels of quality and service.
Our ability to listen to our customers and adapt accordingly is a big reason Wohlsen is one of the leading merit shop construction firms in the region. We are actively involved in three different chapters of Associated Builders & Contractors, and we have established relationships with subcontractors in multiple marketplaces. As a result, we are able to ensure expanded bid coverage, thus delivering the best product at the best price for our customers.
